Cox dropping service
Hey, have any of you on cox noticed service dropping a lot? I'm in the RI area and just moved back to school. Some friends and I are renting a house and it seems atleast once a day we totally lose internet service. I go into the router properties, the guy that owns the house supplied EVERYTHING, and look on the status and it's fine, refresh the page and BAM. IP is changed to 0s. This happens WAY too often. At the same time that this happens I notice the cable light on the modem starts blinking. It's a toshiba modem PCX2200. I assume it follows the flashing slowly meaning "downstream RF carrier present and ranging in progress. So is there any way to speed up that process and have it register more quickly or is that a function of the ISP?
