Asus n7n8x deluxe freezes up with ATI Radion 9200

Greetings,

I have the asus motherboard and it freezes up within 5 minutes or less and gives a message about the display driver for the radion 9200 causes an error. Does anyone out there have any experience or suggestions to fix this. This "build my own computer" project has been a real challenge.

Thanks in advance, Mike

Have you installed the newest Catalyst drivers, made sure the card was properly seated, yadda yadda yadda?

Building a computer is a rewarding experience, and teaches you the fundamentals of life.....which is, life sucks sometimes, doesn't it?!

Seriously though, I would download and install the newest Catalyst drivers from ATI and see if that takes care of your problems. From what you describe, it sounds like something in the driver install either got corrupted, or is acting goofy for some reason.

Uninstall the drivers, set the vid adapter for Standard VGA, and reboot, Install the new drivers, take 2 and call us in the morning

I agree with Red Fury as far as drivers are concerned as I have the Radeon 7200 with an A7N8X Deluxe and had problems with the default drivers for my card in Win XP but the problems went away when I booted in to VGA mode, and installed the latest Catalyst drivers from ATI's website.......
