Keyboard buffer?

Every once in awhile, when playing a game where I only use the keyboard, my computer will beep once while using the keyboard and for that second the keyboard basically doesn't work. For instance, I was playing a tennis game on the computer and was playing and was going to swing and the computer beeped once and I didn't swing even though I had pushed the button to swing. Is this a problem w/ the keyboard buffer? And if so, how can I fix it?

I think what the problem might actually be, is the fact that many keyboards have certain key combinations that just don't work together. When these keys are all pressed together ya get that beep, and the last key pressed doesn't register...

So, just as an example, perhaps in this game you might be running down+left, and then hit X to swing. If you keyboard cannot have a combination of down+left+X, then you will get the beep and the X key wont register...

Hope this helps
