Does AS3 have a break in time?

I transfered cases recently and while I was doing it I re-did the cpu thermal grease with Arctic Silver 3. The CPU seems to run at a higher temp now than before (I put the old heatsink fan to check). It seemed to me when I originally installed the heatsink (time before last) it cooled a bit after about a week. Am I off my chair here or is there some sort initial break in period for grease?

A lot of people claim that the AS3 has to "bed in", and temps drop a couple degrees after a few days. There's been testing done to support this theory.

On the other hand, I've never noticed this personally, so I don't think the temps really drop more than a degree or two.

OK, thanks for the info. Idle was close to 40 yesterday (too hot IMO), I'll have to wait and see what it is in a few days.

yes it takes 1-2 good days of idle to let the as3 set in, because all the lil silver things have to set in... so let it run for a few days b4 you push it to full load
