USB problems with ASUS P4P800

If I connect certain USB devices to my PC (MAXDATA; Austria/Germany), which has an ASUS P4P800 motherboard, I run into problems. The devices are:

Microsoft Digital Sound System 80 (manufactured by Philips)

external multi-card reader (reads digi-cam cards)

internal multi-card reader

If these devices are connected, if I try to access any code that uses video (my TV card, DVD players, Windows Media player, etc), my PC freezes.

Once I disconnect these devices, I can view TV/video without any problem. Why would specific USB devices block video from running? I have my USB web cam plugged in as well as an external HP CD Writer and there are no conflicts with these.

Greg

Might not work but its worth a try...

Uninstall/Reinstall the USB drivers that came with your motherboard. Or check Asus' website for updated ones

the problem has nothing to do with removing decvices, even with the card reader empty, if it is connected to the motherboard then any other code with graphics (TV, media player) crashes on launch
