PC randomly won't even power up?
Hello. Some weird stuff is happening to my machine.
EP-8RDA+, XP2400+, GeforceTi4400, etc.
A fan was bothering me, and my wires were all tangled, so I decided to turn the machine off and rip everything out. I cut power to it (by switching the switch in the back... everything was giving "will not close" errors on my normal shutdown).
I then pulled out all the wires, untangled everything, then put some of the wires back in. When I gave it power back, it wouldn't try to power the motherboard. I then pulled out everything except power, and then it booted.
I tried to put some other wires back in, and now it won't boot at all. No matter what I put in, plus reset CMOS, barebones, cutting power for 15 minutes, different combos, no go.
However, when I plug it in and have the back switch on, the USB keybord receptor light is on, showing it's getting power, as is the ethernet port light. When I turn the power off, it's the standard 3 second delay before I hear a power off and the lights go off. Makes me think the PSU's still good. I've checked all the wires, CMOS jumpers, and power switch connectors. Any suggestions?
I'm limited as far as troubleshooting and switching parts (I'm at college), so I'm hoping for a quick fix without too many hours of labor (aren't we all, haha). Thanks again.
