LED too bright!!!

I changed a 3mm led in my keyboard to a blue one, but its 8000mcd and its too bright!!! it makes a circle on the ceiling. does anyone know how to dim it a bit?

well, besides giving it to me and putting the old one back in, the only things i can think of are
1, putting something tinted there
2. (i dont know if this works so ask someone else) maybe limit the power going to the led?

8000mcd..wow..yeah that's a bit of overkill for a keyboard status light....now maybe if you had it lighting up the keys from underneath.....

My keyboard keys are black, so I dont think it will do much, lol.

go to radio shack. they sell blue leds that are dimmer for a few bucks . i put a 6000mcd blue and 10000mcd white led in my case for hdd and power
