Help! How to shut it down?

I am in need to install a CD-Recording software in my Windows XP Professional and I have heard that I need to do some stuff before I do this. I heard that XP has its own CD-Recorder program integrated and I have heard that I need to shut it down before I install an other separate. How do I do this? And is it true that if I dont it can ruin my XP or start to give me problems? I have already tried out XP's integrated and its fine, but too slow and not as I want it to be. Please, if you know post it and respond to me. Thanks for listening

dan

no not really, just install the software and burn away, the xp burning is just another burning software on the side..

I don't think it's really necessary to close XPs built in burning software ... it should only be running when it was started. I always install Nero without ever disabling XPs software.

As you guys I have also been using my Cd-recorder software without disabeling it but I heard somewhere in the web (can't remember where right now) that you should disable it. I thought most people disabled it before installing the separate, but I guess im wrong. Well, I currently bought Nero 6 from the web, should be here soon, has anyone had experience with it? I was colse to buy Easy CD Creator 6 but I changed my mind and went with Nero instead since I have experience with the 5 version of it. Did I do the right choice? Thanks for the replies

Nah, no need at all to disable the Xp burning feature (I didnt even know you could I guess).

Nero 6 is pretty cool, I've used it b4, but its not very different from 5.5, at least that I can see. Hope you didnt pay too much for it =(

VHockey-
I really didnt pay that much, and I actually like the product (at least I loved the 5.5) so I think I will like this version too. Thanks anyways for asking, and now I know that I dont need to disable it so now it gets easier for me.
