Freezing along with a continous buzzing from speakers

I don't know what the cause of this is, but occasionally my computer will do what I described above. I *think* it happens only when a program is using a lot of my resources: for instance, it happens all the time in new games, but rarely in old games or something like Internet Explorer (although this still happens). Turning off the speakers then turning them back on does nothing for the buzzing, and the only thing to stop the buzzing and unfreeze my computer is a hard reset. Here is a link to a topic about this same problem:

http://www.techimo.com/forum/tid7096...pn1/index.html

I have tried everything that everyone in that topic suggests, except for all of the BIOS stuff. I can't access my BIOS, it's not a computer problem and I don't feel like explaining it. Any help at all would be...well, helpful. Thanks in advance.

The buzzing could be interference on either the sound card from things in the PC or from the power to the speakers. I have that problem sometimes if I knock the power bar a little bit my speakers start buzzing .I have to play around with the cable a bit then it goes away.

Does your PC freeze every time your speakers start buzzing?

Yes, every time and at the exact same time.

FYI: I don't think it is a heating problem like most poeple in the other topic did. I could have my computer off for a week, turn it on, and it could freeze in 10 seconds. I don't think that's enough time for anything to overheat.

I don't think it's a heat problem, if it's not freezing within the same period of time (i.e. a median time within 1 or 2 minutes of each occurance).

Have you tried replacing the sound card? Ensured the plugs into the sound card are tight? I've had a PC freeze on me when I unplugged and replugged a speaker cable.

I tried doing this: unplugged speakers, played a game for a while, and it froze. When I plugged the spears back in while it was frozen, I got the buzzing.

Try removing your soundcard and see if it still freezes. If its a hardware issue you're going to want to try different things to troubleshoot it.
