have a Fujutsu FDX310 and Windows XP
I have already had one of these modems die on me, and the one im using now had to be troubleshot when it wouldnt connect.
Now i was in the middle of playing Halflife when the modems lights started flickering rapidly. Then the computer froze. It has been quite common with this modem for some reason.
I restarted expecting to just load XP and play the game again.
The XP loading screen came up waited 15 seconds - average boot to login screen time. The hard drive ha went quiet and the HDD light was on like normal. That was my sign that XP was about to appear.
Instead, the hdd light went off and nothing was happening. The little progress bar was still moving tho. I waited for about 2 minutes... nothing.
I couldnt work out the problem. I restarted 3 times same thing, then i noticed the modems lights flickering like it was still trying to connect. Normally takes 10 seconds... this had been 2 mins. So i decided to yank out the modem.
The boot screen disappeared and nothing else happened. The screen just stayed blank
So i left it unplugged and restarted. It went fine.
I just restarted again with it plugged in, and it didnt work.
So now i have to pull out my modem to restart and plug it back in when windows is loaded.
