AIM Virus
Okay, I ran searches on various search engines and only found one site where this was being discussed but I came across no solutions. I searched TechIMO and no one seems to be talking about it.
I've had this problem for a couple of days now. When I am on AIM, my screen name would send out a link to the following file:
JVCGRDV800USMiniDVDigital.pif
and the message talks about clicking on the link to see a camera that I'm supposedly getting. Does anyone else have this problem? If you know how to fix it, please tell.

Worms do exist for AIM and this definately sounds like one. Have you scanned you computer with a virus scanner with up to date virus definitions?

Try AVG if you don't have a virus scanner. Make sure its fully updated.
If it doesn't find one, try Housecall online scanner
also to be safe Run adaware to clean up any spyware.

I have Norton Antivirus. All I did in the past 3 or 4 days is scan and look for answers online. My definitions are up to date because I ran LiveUpdate on Wednesday. I also downloaded the IntelligentUpdater.
I also ran Ad-Aware 6 Personal Edition. I don't have the money to buy the Pro edition. Would that make a difference?
I will try other virus scans. Thanks for the replies.

... and no it won't make a difference between Pro and normal.
Pro just adds a few features like proactive watchign for spyware.

I ran HouseCall and found one virus that my Norton did not catch. However, I still have the problem. That page sixf00t4 gave me seems like it could be the problem I have, except I checked for all the files in the Windows System folder and none of them are there. It could be a similar virus. Does anyone else have this problem?

Oh, and also, this virus doesn't use port 8180. It uses 3130.
