How hot is the computer running in Arizona? Your computer might be crashing due to excessive heat. Is this a home built or overclocked system? Is there an area in the BIOS that will show you system and CPU temperatures? Should be under PC health or something like that. That would be the first place I'd look.

My computer doesnt heat up. i have an a7n8x deluxe mainboard and it specifically tells me that the computer is now booting from the operating system, and right after that is where it hangs. windows media center, windows xp home, and professional all crash. i dont know what to do. i scanned for viruses and it came up saying that i had the w95.wierd virus, so i deleted it.

Well, check your temps anyway, i had the same problem and my alarms went off and it aslways crashed, but when i checked my temps they said it was fine... but it wasnt. take your case of and run your computer. touch the prossesor. if it burns you, like, it hurts to touch for even a split second, you are overheating. in this case. Fans... buy lots and lots of fans. and keep her cool. if heat isnt your problem then i dont know what is.... (if it was XP only that messed up, i would say, recovery disks.... or new OS. but it seems to be like all of them or whatever....)

Just something that I read in another thread somewhere...

Check the chipset fan on the motherboard. As I read the chipset itself unstable at relatively low temps.

And welcome to TechIMO.
