Hi Robert,
Not sure if, by this, that you mean that FPM DRAM is known as 'SDRAM'. Synchronous DRAM (SDRAM) is different to Fast Page (FPM DRAM) DRAM memory. For main memory on a PC, FPM generally came in 72pin simm modules and was in use primarily around the 486 era. It is often referred to simply as 'DRAM' in respect to main or video memory but I have never heard of it being referred to as SDRAM. SDRAM technology hit the mainstream later (as pc main memory) and (SDR) came into use when pentium classics gained popularity.
Perhaps it was a typo Robert?
And to answer the thread starters question (without knowing the specifics of your test) - SDRAM is used extensively in graphics cards - whether it be SDR SDRAM (mostly referred to simply as 'SDRAM') or DDR SDRAM.

Elad.
