Charge Palm V without hotsync??

I wondered if I could just put 2 wires from a AC adaptor instead of using a dock or hotsync thing. Anyone know the pinouts on the back of it and the voltage needed?

How much did you pay for the palm and can you afford to lose it on the first try?

I paid nothing, got it for free with other stuff I bought, just shipping. I cleaned out the corrosion inside the unit, and put 4.5V on pin 2 and ground on pin 10 and it charges and everything, so I think imma get a hotsync dock thing for it now. But the back was glued on, so it is a littel bent outta shape.

Does the rig have any markings regarding batteries, battery type, etc? Ni-Cd, Ni-MH, 3.3v? The 4.5V might get you some mileage, but don't go trusting it for any critical data.

I foudn a lot fo guides online that say the pins on back use 3.3v, but 3v didn't work, so I'm going to look for a hoysnc now i know it works.
