Just a word to the wise: you probably won't get too much playback time off of the single AAA battery. Otherwise, it seems to be a nice piece of equipment if you don't mind the horrible loss in mp3 files.
edit*** I just noticed it's usb1.1 which is extremely slow when it comes to data transfers.

mp3 files are known to be lossy when compressing wav files. If you don't mind not hearing brilliant highs and the deep lows, or if you just don't have the ear for it, it's perfect for you.

Well, the mp3 will never be "fine" on your computer, but if you can't hear the difference, then by all means purchase the item.

I can hear the difference but most of my stuff is burned off mp3's. Does that matter? I think it does some what.

the quality of the recording is compromised when you convert wav (or from a CD) to MP3s. Most people can't hear the difference - but there is an obvious difference if you listen for it. It really depends on the birate of the MP3
