My documents on desktop?

Well i bet theres a simple answer to this but what happened to my documents on my desktop! its gone

if you are running winxp right click on desktop click properties, then click desktop, then at the bottom click customize desktop. See if you have the my documents unchecked

right click on taskbar, properties, start menu tab, switch to
" classic start menu"

i like it better that way myself on XP

I'm running win2k and if i did delete it "probably my friends" how can i get it back?

Well I don't have access to a W2k machine right now but I'll take a stab at it anyway.

Start - Settings - Control Panel - Folder Options - View - and then under Advanced Settings - Look for Show My Documents on Desktop.

Hopefully that worked.

you could also just go into windows explorer and go to

C:\Documents and Settings\your username\

and just right click on the My Documents folder and select " send to, desktop (create shortcut) tons and tons of ways to do it.

zmatt are u running win 98 or something? if u have win 98, then right click on your desktop when a box appears, go to properties. now you're at display properties. go to EFFECTS tab on the top. Unclick the little box you see on there where it says "hide icon...bla bla...". Did that solves anything? No? Or did i give the wrong answer.. ;p

p/s: so it was win2k. sorry, i dont know it works same as XP a bit right..? the icons that u were talking about, i think your friends has deleted it

Thanks thats it, I think i unchecked it but i dont rember doing that
