No power to my radeon 9700 pro!!!

hey, I just got a new pc with a 9700 pro in it, however, I found out that it was a downclocked one and it wasn't a pro, so I sent it back and they sent me back another card. However, they sent me a geforce 2 in the meantime before they could get another 9700 pro in stock. So, I just got the new 9700 pro finally and I plugged it in using the same power cable from the other one. When I turned it on, the fan on the graphics card didn't turn and the monitor didn't turn on. Is this a dead card? is there anyway to know for sure or could I have conncected something wrong?

Make sure the card is securely inserted into the AGP slot. Sometimes those slots can be tricky. If it is secure, is the CPU fan running when you supply power?

ok, I just tried the power splitter it camewith and nothing there either. I had the other 9700 pro working perfectly before though with this power cable, could it be a problem that I have the tnt2 drivers installed from the temporary card?

No. You should get graphics during post, the drivers are loaded by the os afterwards.

Remove the card from the AGP slot. Leave the power cable connected. Turn the pc on and see if the fan spins. Is there something else you can plug that power cable into to verify it works? Do you have a volt meter?
