webcam survailance?

here is my idea i was gonna hook multiple usb webcams up through a hub and then set them up all over the place to have like a live came of an LAN party so one of my friends who is concidering hosting could see how it goes. he lives almost 200 miles away so it isnt like he could attend. would the multiple camera idea work?

will all the cams be on the same pc?
maybe not...

i dont have more than one to try it out, as long as each cam had its own webaccess port, and the program you are using supports more than one instance of itself, and/or multiple sources, it should work

Windows Media Encoder should support this fine for you.

It launched two sessions for me and it allows me to indepedently select every setting of the camera and stream.
