Is the internet just plain weird tonight?

I have been having odd Internet problems all night, sites not being reachable, just overall weirdness. Anyone else seeing this?

Other than RoadRunner users not being able to access Microsoft sites, I know of no major routing problems tonight. There have been a few spikes in DNS traffic, but nothing that should really affect most users.

No really significant attack/scan/trojan traffic either.

my isp has been going nuts for a few days. I keep getting ICMP echos and pings from various servers on their network. I'm talking about 2500 in the last 4 hours

My ISP has a looped port scan utility hits me 8-10 times a minute. You can watch the scan run through the port numbers in my firewall's traffic logs. All scans are blocked, but it is mildly annoying.

yeah i feel the pain as its basically the same thing. with the exception that these don't seem to be different ports just active pings. but what i don't get is they are active pings from several different servers and a million different ip addresses
