dual booting, the process

how do you create a dual booting computer? Also if i want to remove one of them later, how do i do it? Thanks.

The short answer about creating: Install the older OS first on it's own partition, then install the newer one.

The boot.ini file contains the commands allowing for the OS boot option. It's far easier to delete the 2nd OS than the first.

If you want to fit Linux in the mix, do it after Steve's list. It will install a bootloader (lilo or grub) and give you the option of booting to Linux or Windows. If you choose Windows, the Linux bootloader hands off to the NT loader which gives you a choice of Windows flavors you have installed.

maximum pc, the magazine, once had a 37 OS PC as rig of month, it used a boot loader program, that I cannot recall right now....

just, if, you ever want to trip/quad/more boot.
