what to do about a hard drive?

Ok so what do you guys think I should do. I'm getting my Asus nforce2 motherboard and I want to get a new hard drive. Both of these come out to about the same price ($120-130).

120gb SATA 7200rpm
37mb SATA 10000rpm

I like all the storage on that 120gb, but would the 10,000 be really noticeable for me to choose that one?

that 37 mb sounds like SCSI, not sata. I'm just gonna follow this thread, cause I have the same interest in building a new, faster comp. Maybe 37 GIGS?

sata 10000 should be out, or at least soon. Personally I'd choose the 120 gb, but it depends on what applications you'll be using it for.

Don't just look at the RPM's. The throughput of the SATA drive will be faster and more constant than an IDE drive. You'll have a lower average seek time as well.

That 10,000 RPM is the WD Raptor SATA drive. It ONLY comes in 36gb so far...but it is performing just slightly short of SCSI drives....it will blow away the other one in speed...but I'd still go for the bigger hard drive if you really want to go SATA

Like I've said before, SATA is only worth the money in the 10k rpm flavor. The 7200 SATA's are slightly better than the 7200 ata's, but not enough to notice except in benchmarks. I'd suggest you get a PATA drive. They are getting dirt cheap these days(80-90cents a gigabyte).
