Kids HELP SELECTING A VIDEO CARD

Hi, i'm new to fixing and upgrading computers. i need a video card that can handle high resolution, high color. nothing special or top of the line. the card that i have in the computer right now works fine with windows 98 se but when i run aol it looks crappy and i can't install some software because it says my card doesn't do high resolutions. please help i just want something simple that works and can run all software. i'm not a gamer, like seriously, just basic games. i don't want to spend alot of money, looking for the cheapest card. thanks in advance for any help

GeForce 2 would be your best bet if not gaming.

How much are you looking to spend? And is your current card an AGP or PCI or is it on-board video?

a 5200 ultra/non-ultra would be perfect for your ordinary browsing needs. i upgraded (some wouldnt call it much of an upgrade) from a 32mb tnt2 m64 to 64mb geforce 4 mx440 and the performance jump was massive!

so go for a 128MB 5200, which can be yours for $50 or an ultra for $80.
