from a fresh install of the os? Insert your cd and do a fresh install, or get the update (i have audigy platinum first version so there is an update available)

if it is installed properly, to see if it is running , you can do the following:

for win2k pro, you hit cntrl + alt + del, then select the processes tab to see if it is running already. (RCMan.exe)

to start it: From processes: FILE --- >NEW TASK RUN and select it by browsing for it in the creative folder

You could also check (if you have admin rights on the pc) msconfig and the startup config to see if you have checked to run on startup (win2kpro doesn't have one, but you could use xp's msconfig and just put it in the WINNT folder.)
