Kids XP does not resume from hibernation

My configuration

Pentium 2.0 G
512 MB
Elitegroup p4s5a motherboard
Windows XP professional

All updates and patches installed.

I can send my box to hibernation without problem. When I try to resume, the black screen ("Windows is resuming...") comes up. The progress bar is filling up.

As soon as the progress bar reaches 100%, nothing happens any more. No HD access, no other reaction.

I have to reset and delete restoration data.

Help would be greatly appreciated.

Turn off hibernation. Suspend is all you need.

Cheers!

I would love to.

But my UPS sends my PC into hibernation as soon as the UPS battery runs out of power.

Unfortunately happens quite a lot here in the NE.

So I really need to resume from hibernate.

There is a update on Windows Update for "Computer Fails When Connected To A UPS"

Try that one out and see what happens. Hibernation on WinXP is a very buggy feature. If the update doesn't fix the problem, contact the manufacturer of the UPS and ask if they know of a fix.

Good Luck & Cheers!.
