Make sure your audio is configured properly in the audio configuration settings.

.....I hear so many Z*40 horror stories. I was about to buy the Z540's until I read too many reviews of the the amp in the sub blowing out and losing channels. It's true many z*40 owners probably love thier system but how could sooo many people write about the same symptoms and be wrong? I'm glad I didnt buy them. Maybe around Christmas time I can get my Klipche 5.1 setup. I wanted new speakers a year ago but, I'd rather wait another year and get something that will last. I hope your problem is just a setup configuration problem Eryk. Best of luck to you.

Have you checked your Mainboard manufactures website for an audio driver update? If your cables are correct and your driver seems to be installed correctly..... It really doesnt look good. Did you hear the Center channel go out?

I had a similiar proble a while back and almost bought new ones but then realized the large black cable going to the sub had almost completly come undone. You might check that, just plugging it in again fixed mine, though it does sound like that may not be the case. Just a thought.

I enjoy many of Logitech's products. I have Logitech keyboards & mice. I have a Logitech Force 3D Controller also. As far as I know they didnt start into audio until they aquired a company called Labtech. I really didnt think much of thier products when they were around.

Honestly, no one can say if you would end up in this situation. I was only speaking from my experience in reviewing z*40 speaker sets on newegg's review section. There are many more satisfied customers than upset ones, but, the upset ones seem to describe the same exact problems with the amp. I really dont want that headache and am choosing to buy from their competition. Maybe all he needs is a BIOS update on his mainboard to enable certain features on his onboard audio chip. If he heard the center channel drop out though, then I would say the problem is within the speaker system.
