Looking for a good hintsink for an athlon.

Hello,

Im currently looking for a good heatsink/fan combo I can use to pair up with the Athlon 3000+.

Few things Im looking for:

1. Must fit well on the Asus A7N8X Deluxe Mobo (I just got an aero 7 that was a REAL mission to install, good heatsink but just to risky to install at least for me)
2. Must be fairly quiet.
3. No more than $50 bucks

On top of this, I have the coolermaster aero 7, brand new which Im not gonna use much longer, I paid $35 for it and Im offering it for $25/w shipping when I get a replacement heatsink. (I guess I should just put that in trading forum?).

Any suggestions on what I should get?

Thanks

(Edit, I will not be overclocking)

I used a Thermaltake SmartFan II ontop of a Thermaltake Volcano 7 heatsink on my A7N8X Deluxe for a while...it was a pain to install though. Not sure how the regular Volcano 9 heatsinks are (they're almost identical to Volcano 9 heatsinks)

I hear the trick to installing the aero 7 is to remove the fan first.

I love my Coolermaster Aero 7+. It's a little difficult to get the clips started, but I love the finger depresser for the retaining clip. Not to mention the ultra cool look of that Squirrel cage fan on top. I've gotten great cooling results with it.

I'd love to pick yours up from you, but I don't have the extra money for another nice Heatsink! ( just bought a mobo, cpu, heatsink combo from F/A Mechdood.... )

Definetely a bump for anyone looking to get a good deal on a super cool heatsink though!

The most effective aircooling HS right now is the Thermalright SLK-947U. It will fit your motherboard:
Quote:
SLK-947U Socket-A/478 Motherboard Compatibility Information
SLK-947U is designed to fit both AMD socket A as well as Intel P4-478 motherboards with and without the stock retention bracket that came with motherboard. So far, we have not found any boards not compatible with SLK-947U. If you've found any, we would appreciate if you could report them to here.
Check out http://www.thermalright.com

If you search for best price, you will be able to find the SLK 947U with a fan for $50 or just under.

I've been shopping around, and I know I came across a site that had this HS plus fan at $49.99 + $6 S&H, b ut I can't recall the URL. Here are some other decent prices:
