Battlefield 1942

I am having 2 problems with it.

1. It's lagging even though I have a PIV 1.7GHz with 512MB RAM.

2. I can't connect to any servers online.

I just installed the game. Are these any known issues ?

What could be the problem?

I've played other similar games without problems, such as Enemy Territory, which I play very often, it runs very smooth and I can access servers.

I've noticed that the sound quality can really degrade performance.. Try setting it down to 22 or 11 KHz. Also, you can try reducing the number of bots. One of my friend was complaining it was slow but had 64 bots in his game.

I'm having the game connection problem, too. Are you using a router?

I have a Cable modem, I can see the servers in the list, but when I try to join, it tries to connect for about 20 seconds and then gives me an error message saying it could not connect.

Have you updated to the newsest patch? They just came out with another one a few days ago. Might wanna try it

I've had problems with BF1942 also where I didn't with other games connecting and playing. Make sure to download the newest patch and try again. You may need to start with everything on the lowest settings and go from there. I was having connection problems even with a 70 and lower ping. I reinstalled the game a couple of times, messed with game quality settings, and tried to connect to different servers with different numbers of players on the map until I got connected. Once I got onto a server everything seemed to run much better.

CM I dont think your a member over at www.clanimo.com If you go there ask someone for the ip to the server or register and let me know so I can add you to the bf group, that way you can see more blocks that only reg/bf group can see.

also may want to consider using all seeing eye

its a lot nicer than the ingame browser, lots more options, works with lots of games.

Strange:

I have a PIV 1.7GHz, 512MB RAM and a GeForce 2 MX400 and yet I can only play the game smoothly if I use the lowest graphics settings.

Does this sound right?

LOL YES! A ge2 is waaaay outdated. You need a new video card if you expect to play with higher settings. Anything over a ge3 will do nicely.
