Remote Linux?

Is it possible to telnet or ssh into your linux box? I thought I heard somewhere that you could. And if it is possible, 1)How would I go about doing it, and
2)Could I both type and compile a C++ program program remotely? btw, It's a Redhat 8 Distro, and I have a default C++ compiler. thnx.

1. SSH comes by default with Redhat, just have to make sure its installed
2. type - yes, compile - yes!

can't seem to find a decent ssh howto at the moment though

PuTTY is probably one of the more popular ones

(for a windows client that is)

Send a message via AIM to [A3D]Hatswitch
Another program you should get used to: screen. It lets you log in and out of a box without dropping the session.

You can also get the non-commercial SSH software from SSH.com for windows.
And yes, you can do almost everything with ssh once you are connected! ... almost!
