i just got wat seems like a perfect idea for a case. make a small metal case like the shape of the shuttle thing on the homepage of techimo and have the back side of the comp have about6 120 mm fans blowing in on everything...am i an idiot for thinking this would work or for once am i making sense in this technological world???

6 fans going in wouldnt work it would cause turbulents and end up not cooling it much at all but i had an idea of making a case entirely of fines the acces side would be intace fans and the top and other sid could be exhaust i think that would work it would be a constant breeze on the system

if air goes in ... where does it go out? Even with air holes, or fans somewhere else - you're not pushign as much out as you are in. Pressure will build up, eventually those fans are a waste because they're moving less air than a single 80mm would.

then it would be LOUD...and it still won't ever be below ambient air temperatures.

it shouldnt be that loud cuz it would be 120mm fans with nothing blocking them and if it stays at ambiant temps then ok w/e it would still look cool lol

imaging someone built a 12-24 fan panel for the side of the computer hehe, so half blow in and out. lol

People seem to think 120mm fans are silent ... they're NOT. ESPECIALLY when you're pushing air through a hollow box. I have a 120mm fan sitting next to me that's nearly 50dba (that's high for them though) ... in a box like that running alone it would be over 50dba.

Even 3 running at 25dba (which is about as low as you can get running 12v) would be unbearable.
