Kids Fans/Cooling Questions

I will be making a new computer and plan to do some pretty decent overclocking on the 2100+ tbred and the ati 9600 pro. The case that I have has 2 80 mm fans on the bottom on the one side. I can add up to 4 more 80mm fans on the bottom in the front and 1 60 mm in the back. I am wondering how I should setup my fans. I was thinking that I will add 2 80mm Thermaltake Smart Case Fans in the front for intake and add 1 60mm Evercool Aluminum Case Fan to the upper back for exhuast. Do you think that this will work out ok and will it be incredibly loud? Or what would you reccomend that would keep the case nice and cool, not be too loud, and not be too expensive. Also, I have a newbie question about fans, are certain fans exhuasts fans and certain ones intake fans? Or does it just depend on what way you set them up?

All fans are whatever you want them to be, jus point them in the right direction. Never buy a fan over 45dB. To loud.

Also, unless your 2100+ came unlocked, you can't unlock the 2100+ so your overlcoking is limited to only the FSB.

If you do buy a loud fan, you can wire it so it runs at 7v rather than 12v ... helps a lot and may (it's not been proven either way last I knew) increase the life of the fan.

Sometimes it takes loud to cool a system...but that's why I switched to water cooling

Front fans should be used as intake fans...and rear fans as exhaust. Also if you have them, fans on top are usually best used as exhaust - because hot air rises.

If you can put a blowhole in your case (a fan on the top that blows outward) your temps will be a lot better too.

Why not just buy a slower, more quite fan in the first place?

I did this when I moved my AthlonXP 1600 and Globalwin HSF over to the kids PC. The Globalwin had a Delta screamer on it and everyone complained about the noise. The kids case had a side blowhole so I rewired the Delta fan for 7 volts. The temps are 43c. Not bad, but the side blowhole fan helps provide cool air for the rewired Delta fan. Without the side blowhole fan the temps climb up to about 52c.

Money. I found I could buy a cheap HSF for the price of a fan. So, I just rewired the one I had.
