choosing an athlon mobo

Ok, i've been out of the loop the past few months with motherboards. I'm considering upgrading, but the latest I was up with all the new stuff was a few months ago, and the best stuff out was the nforce2 ones..like the asus deluxe...abit nf7-s...etc. are these still at the top or are there some better ones out? or ones about to come out?

Epox 8RDA+ is the BEST AMD mobo for price/quality.

$79 shipped from newegg.

Although RedFury seems to be having problems with it.

Most people here will tell you that the ASUS A7N8X is on top of the Nforce 2 spectrum another board I personally like is the MSI K7N2, its just as good as the ASUS and its on a pretty red PCB. You have asked about motherboard several times, any one of the Nforce 2 board that have been mentioned will do a great job.

Well, for total features, I like the Gigabyte 7NNXP, although the cost is something of a burner. Best part about the board is it's dual BIOS feature. And it's on a BLUE pcb. I have no personal experience with the Gigabyte board, but I'm planning on grabbing one up when I build my next computer.

The best ones there are right now, are the Asus, Abit, and Epox. The MSI boards are good, as well, although I personally don't know anyone who is using that board. Basically, decide on the features you want on the board, and pick one that best suits your needs. Make sure to purchase through a reputable dealer, and you should be set.

This one's a little old, but it should give you a good idea on what to expect. This review was done before the advent of the nForce2 Ultra 400 chipset, but feature wise, nothing much has changed with most boards except for the 400Mhz FSB support.

Check through Anandtech, or HardOCP if you want more reviews of individual boards.
