The Login has changed to like Windows 2000 style and not the XP kind where you select your Start Menu icon and login...

I have saved the restore points manually and yet it says "There are currently no restore points available".... Why?!

Namie- do you want to make it to XP style again instead of 2K, your login? If so these are the steps to make it go back to normal. Windows XP Professional changes your login style when you start to change things with networking. For example, if you join a domain it will automatically change the login style. It also takes away the picture in the start menu, and makes it look more like 2K. The steps to make it go back to normal are very simple:

-Click the start button
-Enter the Control Panel
-Enter User Accounts
-Click where it says "Change the way users log on or off"
-To make it go back to normal XP style click on the "Enable Welcome Screen"
-If you want to also have the option of fast users switching, enable that too.

Then after that you are done. Thats it, very simple. I also had this "problem" a while back ago but I learned how to do it and im teaching other to do it it looks like

AHHH, Thank you for the info... makes a lot more sense now...

I thought I got another virus or something...

I tried to "Enable Welcome Screen" but it would say
"Client Services for NetWare has disabled the Welcome screen and Fast User Switching. To restore these features, you must uninstall Client Services for NetWare."

How could I uninstall that?

And does updating network drivers have to do with losing my RESTORE SETTINGS too?

I think for what you are telling me it looks like you have joined a domain which probably is NetWare in your case. If you want to have the login turn back to normal you need to leave the domain unfortunately since you cant have the XP login if you are in a domain. I am personally not in a domain, but I still use the 2K login since I think it takes less resources and looks and feels better IMO. I would recommend you to not leave that domain, since you might share stuff in it with other people in your network. If you are not you can leave by entering the control panel. Enter Network Connections and Im sure you can find how to do after that there. I cant give you specific instructions since I have never joined a domain. Hope this helps
