Trillain soon to be locked out of MSN..

Much like the battles of the past with AIM and Trillian, Microsoft has now set its sights on kicking Trillian and other 3rd party client users off of their IM network. I thought that MS was the ones promoting interoperability a couple of years ago. Should be interesting to see what happens.

No worries. If Trillian signs on then expects us to pay, we'll just use hacked versions.

Because, of course, the developers should have to give us their software for free...

Didn't they try to do this like a year and a half ago? or was that AOL.

LOL, that is the way every group trying to break in from the outside acts. Hey open standards, let us in. Of course, omce they get in and become one of the powers that be, they turn around and want to make it cost. And MS, in particular is notorious for this.

That was AOL
Then they battled for like 6 months or something

The only reason MS wanted interoperability was because they were newbies in the rink and they didn't have any users... now they have users because they force that POS on your machine so now they can take their toys in the corner with the rest of them

MS Sure as he11 wasn't doing it for the users.

If MS cuts Trillian off, I'll have to stop using MSN completely. I hate the normal MSN thing because you can't tell who the hell you are talking to. I have over 30 people in my MSN list and every one of them has a nick name that doesn't say who they are. My friends always have names like "i thought this was hell until i found you". When you have 30 guys all with names that mean absolutely nothing to you, it's pretty hard to tell who is who.
