Reusing a laptop lcd

I have an old Toshiba portege 610ct. The floppy no longer works so it is basicly useless to me now. I want to know if I can buy some type of video card that would allow me to re-use the lcd in a case mod.

How are you planning to use it? In the side of the case?

Either as a case mod in the side of the case. Or just build a bracket and use it as a second or third display, it would be good for countless text based applications.

Nobody ever did this. Web searchs have been fruitless so far.

Send a message via AIM to Idigguns
What type of connection is on the LCD now? Are there wires? If so, do the colors match the color wires that are in a standard VGA cable?

Well the controller card is prohibitively expensive, and I scrapped the project. An LCD Mod is probably cheaper in the long run if you purchase a kit, because the card has to be programmed according to the LCD screen.

Are there any good kits for a LCD mod?

Too bad the controller card is so expensive. I have an old junk laptop with a good LCD.
