ATI TV Wonder VE Problems....

I Had trouble getting the wdm capture drivers to work but after several attempts corrected that situation only to find another...

My "cable standard appears to think I am in Afghanistan When in reality I am in the USA (have never been to Afganuistan). I know from other ATI TV cards that it needs to be set for USA Cable but the pull down menu offers no such choice. I tried to find the value in the registery and changes "afganistan" to "usa cable" rebooted and still the same problem.

I have also go to ATI and dl the latest drivers and still no solution.

Any suggestions ?

Hal

Cheers!

Thanks for your comments and assistance. Still have not resolved the problem. I do have the capture portion working but the TV tuner still thinks I am in Afganistan

But if I have a choice between capture and TV CApture is what I would choose

But if there ideas as to how to correct I would be interested in hearing them!

It's not hard to fix this, you can select the region you are in, well at least I can with my All In Wonder Radeon 8500 128 meg.

Here is a screenshot I took.

However, IF you read my original post changing the location to "USA Cable" is NOT one of the location choices. Other countries are options but USA Cable (my location) is NOT one of them.

I just battled it out with this card. I wanted to create a multiple monitor setup with TV in by adding a PCI bus VE to my already installed ATI AGP card.

No joy after lots of trys. Conflicts between AGP and PCI needing to be Primary Display's and the BIOS wanting either one to be selected and the VE card needing to be Primary I figured.

Finally broke down and spent some money on a dual head Radeon 9600 AGP and TV Wonder VE. (Remote Edition)

All round better for my needs. Just cost more.

Cheers!

I have the all-in-wonder ve pci card too and the radeon 7000 they've worked together fine with no problems. Have you tried completely un-installing your drivers and then re-installing?

Also ati just released a new driver called the catalyst 3.7. Information is on thier site. I've recently iinstalled it and there seems to me to be more stability. That driver is compatible with both my cards.

Go read up on it and see if it'll work for you.

Hope things work out for ya.

Oops I forgot this. In the bios you have to specify that the agp card is your primary video card. Before you installed the all-in-wonder ve pci card you didn't have to specify this because with only the agp card in your system it automatically chose the agp as primary. Now that you have an agp and a pci video device in your computer you have to specify which one is the primary or main card your system uses. Check in your bios and make sure that agp is selected as the primary video source.
