Blue screen after changing page file size

When I try to change the size of my swap file I get a blue screen of death with the code 0x00000024 and it mentions classpnp.sys and says to run chkdsk /f.
I ran chkdsk /f and it found no errors.
I have also tried deleting the swap file, defragging and running Western Digitals Data Lifeguard test.

Motherboard: ASUS A7V333
Hard drive: 80GB Western Digital Caviar Special Edition
OS: Windows XP Home
I have all the Windows updates and the latest drivers for all of my hardware.

How much RAM do you have? Also, try running sfc.exe

512MB of RAM.
I tried sfc but it made no difference.

I'm having exactly the same problem. Have you made any progress? I now am changing my pagefile size through regedt32.
I have PIV 2.8, Windows 2000 Pro (SP4), 512MB RAM, ASUS P4S800 Motherboard
