To sound or not to sound mobos

Background:
Having a system put together using these main components:
AMD 2500XP Barton
Asus A7V8X
512PC2700 DDR
Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Platinum
ATI aiw 9000PRO

Question:
As I definitely need the Audigy 2 platinum it seems kind of waste to have the motherboard with on-board sound. I am concerned of possible conflicts of sorts. Can anyone suggest a good mobo, popular make, that does not have on-board sound or video, but still is fast, reliable and maybe support dual channel?

Welcome to TechIMO! I wouldn't worry about the on-board sound. All the best mobo's nowadays have on-board sound. It's hard to get away from it. It's very simple to disable the on-board sound anyway, and I've never heard of any conflicts with it and a PCI sound card.
