Router Problems

Today I bought a Network Everywhere Wireless Router (802.11b) (link) from FutureShop for an extremely good price (after some rebates). I have two desktop computers and a laptop (all using WinXP) that I wanted to share one internet connection. I hooked up the two desktop systems with cable to the router (which has 4 ports for wired) and set up the laptop to use the wireless connection.

I went through the admin menus and set everything up the way I wanted it and thought I was good to go. It works, everything is fine. For some reason the router suddenly stops working. I can't get on the internet with any of my machines, I can't access files to share, and I can't even access the admin menu on the router. Nothing, even though all the LEDs on the router are showing that all is OK.

I have reset the router countless times, gone through all of the options, installed the latest firmware, and done all I can think of. The router will work anywhere from 1 - 20 minutes after being reset (at which point I can do everything I should be able to do) before it will stop working again.

What can I do? I have no idea anymore... Please help.

Sounds like the router is DOA, I would RMA it.

Check wether your router is overheating(if it feels too warm to the touch). I know that my SMC Barricade 7004BR would lock up due to the fact that there was almost no air circulation around it.

I agree that this sounds like a heat issue.
1) When it stops, touch it on the top and bottom. Is it hot?
2) Is it hot in your house? Try putting a house fan on it and see if that improves the situation.
