What cables do I need for tv-out gfx cards?

I want to connect my pc to my tv, and I have a GeForce 2 MX 64 mb graphics card. It has tv-out, and I wanted to know what kind of cables do I need and where can I get them.

Thanks

you just need one of the RCA style S-Video cable. SAme inputs that you could hook your ps2 or xbox up to your TV with, yellow + red + white ones.

You can pick one up at radio shack or almost any store pretty cheap, maybe 3 bucks

Actually your referring to 2 seperate types of connections here.

Welcome to TechIMO Mysteriouskk

You have to have an S-VHS output on the back of your vid card to be able to run it to your TV. I douubt that you have an RCA (composite) connector as they have been using the S-VHS on the back of cards for awhile.

S-Video to RCA cables. Been using the 24' for a year and it works great. Much more convient than having to deal with adapters too.

Most video cards have the s-video like here shown at radio shack http://www.radioshack.com/product.as...5Fid=15%2D1510
The more expensive ones have better picture quality like the ones with gold ends. Not sure where you can find one of quality for $3 like vhockey86 said. Remeber you get what you pay for.
Does your TV has a s-video input? Or buy one like Cyberlore suggested that converts one to the other.

k

I have a s-video out on my gfx card, and I don't have one on my tv, but there is one on my dvd player. Can I use my dvd player instead of plugging it into my tv?

heres a little bit cheaper one
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...%3A3964%3A4537
If you dont go for the gold plated stuff.. which really isnt all that neccesary on a TV-out, you can get em a little cheaper I think, been awhile sine i've bought any, so maybe the prices have gone up alot

Edit--- here u go

http://www.radioshack.com/product.as...5Fid=15%2D1539

Now... if your TV doesnt have that kinda plug (as shown in my 2nd link on this post), you're prolly SOL. You DVD-Playe would have to have Video in and Video out for that to work. Most DVD players dont have Video-IN b/c they dont record ne things.

Now if you used a VCR... it should work. Have the Rounded video cables going into the Video-In on the VCR, then use the coaxial output to the TV, then just switch the VCR to "line" or "input" mode.
