Abit IS7-G versus IC7

Well, the IC7 looks good to me, but I'd really rather not have to get a separate LAN card. The IS7-G has onboard LAN and, from what I understand, PAT included, but it is only the 865PE chipset instead of the 875. Overclocking is not a big priority for me, I don't think I ever will, but I won't rule it out. I'm not one of the kinds of people who really cares about pushing the most 3DMarks out of my comp, and I'm not one of the people who gets angry when they're only getting 50 fps instead of 60 on some game when the difference is practically not noticeable. The IS7-G is about 10 bucks more, which would be about the cost of a separate LAN card anyway, but if possible I would rather not have more clutter in the case.

I was originally looking at the IC7-G since it has the onboard LAN, but I don't really think I'm the kind of person who will notice a difference big enough to warrant the 40 dollar difference.

::edit::

For that matter, how does the ASUS p4p800 compare? Anandtech gave the IS7 it's editors choice gold award for best P4 mobo, but I forgot to check about the ASUS.

I just got the ABIT IS7, and slapped a P4 2.4c in it. Like you, I'm not out to set benchmark records. I just want a solid system that has a good cutting edge and will give me a few years of staying on that edge. My last system was a P3 at 800 mhz. Kept that system for nearly 3 years. I've always built my own, because that's part of the whole joy of computing for me. Sorry to ramble. Anyway, I love the IS7. I did my research, and found that 865PE chipset was a better bang for the buck than 875. My setup smokes, and I'm a very happy camper.
