Connection Problems

Well after having lots of problems, probably viruz on bios or something, i decided to purchase a new mobo, Epox 8rda+. I am trying to connect to the internet, i have the MAC Lan Enabled, which should mean the lan is working, and i set up a new connection in network connections, but whenever i try to connect it says

Opening Port

Error 769: The specified destination is not reachable

Im using verizon, its PPpoE.

any suggestions on what to do?

EDIT: in the device manager under network adapters, 1394 Net adapter shows up, but that would be the firwewire, correct?

1394 is firewire. Is your nic built into the motherboard, or is it a pci card? Is there any other adapters listed besides the 1394?

built in. no other things show up beside the firewire.

The drivers cd was tucked under some stuff, forgot to install......works now

ill be in a closet examining my stupidty.
