simcity4 is impossible!!!
forget postman2 and vice city, this game is so friggin impossible, it makes me want to go out and commit random acts of violence!
i dominated at 2k, 3k took some adjusting, but i got it eventually. 4 is just ludicrous. impossible!!! i cnat get a city past 7k without the prison/missile testing facility/nuclear waste plant /militarybase!! i tried tips from the official website, i tried my 2k strategy, i tried the 3k strategy, but this game sucks hard. please tell me i am not the only one.

I find it really hard to do well in that game, too. My secret is to put a bunch of cities up, have each city produce more than enough water and power, and sell it to the neighboring cities.

that was one of my strategies i used in 3k, and it isnt enough for me in 4. i still am not making enough money.
and schools/hospitals really chap my butt too. how many do i need!?!?! dang!!! i put 3 hospitals right next to eachother with recommended funding, and it still says poor health in that area.

its not that hard, the key is patients, you need to build when its paused, then use cheeta for a few years, let it get to peak pop. then pause build a little more etc. i had a nice city, might still have it, but i lost interest in the game so i havent messed with it in a few months...keep at it youll get a nice booming metropolis..

Nah, the game really isnt too bad. You just have to spend all your time on micromanagement. You cant just go crazy getting all your schools and firedepeartments and police right off the bat. Start with the cheapest roads, get wind mills to start... etc etc, you just gotta make your people suffer for a little while =).

I liked the original game. I havent really played since then. When I got Simcity4 demo, I stopped playing it after only a couple city attempts simply because it was too hard. They should make a setting in the game that makes it easier for beginners(haven't played all the titles). I could never keep a positive budget........just too hard.

Lower your industry and residential taxes until some people start moving in, like 5-7%. You'll have a negative budget for a while. Then slowly increase taxes as you add small fire stations, once alot of people come in start adding schools
