Not sure how widespread this may be outside Australia at the moment, but it's rife here!
There is an email scam going around asking internet banking customers to log in for a security update. The email uses the banks logo as a header, and it spoofs an email address on the banks server. It also has a link to click in the email which takes you to a bogus bank site to enter your internet banking details. This link looks like the banks site, but it's not.
I've already had three of these email send to me (two from banks I'm not even a member of

), and banks have issued warnings here.
So beware - this scam may be bigger than just Oz.

So, always verify with your bank before opening any links in emails, no matter how genuine they appear to be!
