Kids Disconnect problem

I have DSL through MSN and quest as the phone service. While im online or playing online games, i get disconnected EVERY three hours. MSN and Quest both have stated its not them.
Im wondering if its a setting in my network somewhere. I have seen similar messages but all have a router in the system.

Here is the error message:

The IP address lease 192.168.1.2 for the Network Card with network address 000C6E139C36 has been denied by the DHCP server 0.0.0.0 (The DHCP Server sent a DHCPNACK message).

There is only 1 computer on my LAN. I am using an ASUS A7N8X motherboard with built in NVidia and 3COM lan ports. MSN DSL 1000 modem is the modem in use.

Any ideas why I get disco'd every 3 hours if im on an unlimited access account

The hub/switch on your lan is probably set to disconnect every three hours. This can be easily resolved by going into the connection settings on the hub and changing the time limit.

Im really new at networking and really dont know much about things. I have looked everywhere and cant find any setting in WinXP that has a time allowance setting.

A walkthrough would greatly be appreciated

The setting is not in your winxp. The msn dsl1000 modem is external? If so, it's there.

Go: http://192.168.1.1

See what comes up. Although if you're not sure what you're doing then perhaps it might be best to leave it or get a techie friend of yours to come by your place and look at it.

I have gone to my DSL settings site many times. MSN does not have any settings that I can change, the only thing there is connection status and a reset option.

Thanks for the input though guys. I think the easiest solution is to get a router and do things that way. I'm crossing my fingers.
