xp firewall

Did windows update and one of them had something to do with the firewall or file sharing in xp pro and the fire wall or file sharing program has locked the program I want to use in,how do I open her up.I am not concerned about security, when something goes wrong I wipe and load.Any help would be great thanks.

I did a windows update at their site and something it installed is either acting like or is a firewall that I don't want,It is interferring with my use of earthstation 5,the update has closed a few ports that I want open. Thanks for your reply and that jpg looks like it may aid in my problem.

something like this.

go to network connections..show all connections..right click on your internet connection...properties...advanced...uncheck the firewall

But im not on an XP machine at the moment so that may not be perfectly worded.

You could always run "services.msc" and find the internet connection firewall..right click it and set it to "disabled"

thanks for the advice and ideas.i had made some security level changes and things SEEM to be working better.lol.Will update later on.I went in and looked where I thought you indicated John Prophet and it was greyed out so it may have something to do with file sharing which was updated as well, the earth station 5 program did say it may be a file sharing program that was closing it out of a number of ports. Thanks for the suggestions.
