playing vcds on laptop

ok i have a hp pavilion ze 4400 laptop and i notice that my desktop computer plays svcds or vcds perfect on my media player but on my laptop it ust saids on the bottom left side changing media and it locks. i have 256 ddr ram i don't think thats the problem. i compare the settings and they r the same . and other ideas? thank you

Are you sure you have the codecs installed properly?

go here click on codecs and download the k-lite codec pack that should have everything you need.
