Don't be too sure on that! Because a computer technician did it for you, it's not always reliable. There are many clowns out there believe it or not. As matter of fact, ran into one at Fry's just a few days ago trying to get my memory tested. And this guy sounded like a veteran to me. He emphasized about his 30+ experience with computers. He said "We dont use memory testers here or at any other Fry's locations. We use mainboards because as long as the system posts, the memory is in working order!" I asked this guy if he was REALLY A+ certified and boy did he give e a face! LOL... Hey, at least you get warranty since the technician installed your heatsink.

Anyways, cooler is always better. 50C isn't too bad at all at idle. But more important than idle temp would be your max temp. If you're not having system instability, don't worry about it. These processors are rated to withstand at much higher temps. many people are so worried about temps to get more years out of their processors and spend megabucks on cooling kits. It's useless. Your processor(s) will become obsolete before that ever occurs under most circumstances..

If you'd like to cool your processors down, here are some of my recommendations:

1. Make sure you have a good contact with processor core and heatsink (I redo this about every 6 months). Another reason I do this is to remove the dust build up on the crevices of the heatsink. This will drop the temperature noticeably...

2. Make sure you have sufficient case cooling. You could have the best heatsink and fan, but without case cooling, it would only be blowing hot air.

3. Organize your cables in a way where air is not constricted. This makes a world of difference.
