I'm running a Win 2K network with Win '98 se and XP (only a few) PC's. The guy that I took over from didn't have a naming convention for the PC's (only the servers). Now, as more and more PC's are being added to the network, I'm running out of names / duplicating etc...
What are the implications etc... of changing the PC names now? Obviously the ones that are sharing resources (i.e. printers etc...) will have to be reconnected to those that are sharing from them, but is there ANYTHING else I need to know before I go ahead and change them?
