Cd-Burning Volume

I was wondering if you can change the volume of the CD when/or before you burn an audio CD. Is there a "DB Level Control" setting somewhere. I read something about the default level is what your volume level is when your computer starts up? I haven't tried it, I really wouldn't like to waste another disc. Any help would me much appreciated.

It's called "normalizing". Any audio software will do it.

Normalizing is making the volume of songs the same throughout the entire file. So if theirs parts that are quieter, and some max, it will bring up the quieter stuff. It makes things less interesting though, not as strong. I listen to Evanescence, which begs for changing volumes, and not just at the end of the songs.

my burning software has volume leveling, so that all songs are at the same level/volume

but I think you mean a CD recorded at 10 on the volume dial, so to speak, can be recorded at maybe 15, or 20, so that when you put it in your car or home strero it will be realy loud??

I use Nero Burning for the program. and I tried burning an mp3 cd with 173 songs on it, but ya the volume's a little loud in my mp3 player (not in car). I looked but I must be blind, where would the normalizing settings be with that program if you're familiar with it?

Question for all who replied and anyone who wants to:
What Cd-burning program do you use?

Thanks to everyone who replied!
