Kids Any video performance difference from 98/Me to XP/2k?

I have a Radeon 9600 pro & have herd conflicting stories saying it runs better
on Win-XP. Others say runs exactly the same on XP as on 98/Me, I was wondering
if anyone has ran any Radeon on XP & 98/Me & noticed any difference as far as speed.
If there both running the same drivers & both OS’s are running well, I would think they
would be both about the same in performance.

Well, drivers for Windows 9.x are typically different from XP, which is an NT based system. So it would be possible to see performance differences with that, and for a variety of other reasons.

1. 9X Drivers like VHockey86 said
2. Windows 98 requires much less resource thus faster video
3. Windows 98 has much much less services then 2000 or XP

Windows 98 doesn't use the resources available as well...thus slower performance - all around, not just video.

and more unstable and crashes a bit. Although that depends on how you use your pc. XP never dumped on me and I've had it for a year.
